1.What is Kaizen?

1.Kaizen outline
"Kaizen" is a method developed and evolved at Japanese manufacturing factory sites for improving quality and productivity.(JICA 2018)

JECK is composed of members who have served as JICA experts in Kaizen and 5S, as well as specialists with extensive experience in production and quality control at manufacturing plants in the private sector.
Understanding Kaizen and 5S is essential for grasping the Toyota Production System (TPS), which includes concepts such as "Kanban (Note 1)" and JIT (Just-in-Time).

(Note 1) Kanban Method: A production management system developed by Toyota Motor Corporation to effectively manage tasks and progress, with the goal of "making only what is needed, when it is needed, and in the amount needed."

This knowledge is a must-have for all students, regardless of whether they have a background in the humanities or sciences. It is essential not only for those seeking careers in manufacturing but also for those aiming for the finance or consulting industries that serve the manufacturing sector. Mastering these concepts will allow you to stand out significantly during job interviews.

JICA made "Kaizen Handbook" in 2018 for the purpose of dissemination of Kaizen.
You can download it without any chages.

2.Kaizen for digital society by APO

The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is an intergovernmental organization that promotes productivity as a key enabler for socioeconomic development and organizational and enterprise growth.

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital technologies, the pursuit of continuous improvement should not be taken for granted. Kaizen, the famous Japanese philosophy which emphasizes continuous improvement, must stay as the fundamental approach of any organization who embarks on digital transformation. Hence, the combination of digital and kaizen offers a structured approach to enhance processes, systems, and outcomes in the digital realm particularly for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in manufacturing sector.
